Here’s a 1992 Prelude Si VTEC 4WS coming up for auction soon.
!!!error: Indecipherable SUB-paragraph formatting!!! (possibly time-sensitive. Also, see comments for login info.)
Electronic 4-wheel steering is the devil, and the auction notes say it doesn’t work (surprise surprise), but otherwise it looks decent aside from the large scuff on the (non-OEM) front lip. Certainly more so than most 4th gens I see on this side of the Pacific. I’d bid on it if I could afford to store it for a year.

BTW none of us can see the auction unless we have an account on the site.

Nice...reminds me of my old‘95 Prelude Si. I had the same color. I didn’t have VTEC or 4WS, but was a great car.

If you’re gonna import one from here, might as well get an Integra Type-R... Much faster and a lot better overall...
EDIT: Forgot you can’t get them due to the 25 year rule...

despite not being oem, the lip doesn’t look bad

I had a '95 Si as well, with an H22 swapped in by a previous owner. Great car, but got hit by a truck that ran a red light.

Yeah, I like it. Just needs some TLC.

No doubt the ITR is a better car, but it has a reputation over here for being a thief magnet. The Prelude, not so much.

:(
At 20 yrs old I couldn’t afford a VTEC car. I only spent 9k on my Prelude.

Find out if the rear steering doesn’t work or has been disabled. Many people disabled the rear steering so they could flick out the rear, etc...

It would be cool, albeit unlikely, if the 4WS had already been removed. That's what I'd do if I bought one with it. Too much headache, not enough benefit.

Easy to put on though if you change your mind. There are a couple of companies here in the U.K. That stock any and all old Honda, Toyota and Nissan parts. They buy them and recondition them when ever they come up (mostly from Japan) sometimes the parts are new and un-used. Sometimes when a part is known to fail it gets redesigned either in-house or by a company approved manufacturer.

Good to know that there are still newish OEM parts available for these cars somewhere. If I import one of these, it would be as a fun car, for autocross and such, and from what I’ve seen on forums, people who track 4WS models remove the system. Ideally, I’m looking for a VTEC 2WS model with an LSD and sunroof delete, but the last two options are pretty rare.

Ye’, some people like their car as OEM as possible. There is a company called Bearmach that do every single part for a Series III Land Rover. The son even built a Series III from the parts in stock.

That’s pretty cool. I can think of 2 or 3 90s Hondas that I could see ever getting that level of support, but none of the Prelude's generations.

Oh, the same thing happened to me with my first car. I wanted an LS1 Trans Am. It was $5k, but the V6 was a few grand cheaper. “Oh, I’ll just get the Trans Am when prices fall far enough in a few years.” I said.
One economic crash, brand collapse and Muscle car drought later, the Trans Am in not-ruined condition is a five figure car. Good examples are north of $15k.
Goddamnit.
